The internationalization program has now become a strong commitment of Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu (UMB). To realize this commitment, UMB has once again sent its students to various countries. In fact, in 2024, UMB has launched a new admission program for international students to pursue undergraduate (bachelor’s) studies at the university.

Interviewed after the official send-off ceremony for three student-teachers departing for internships in Southern Thailand, the Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu (UMB), Dr. Susiyanto, M.Si., reaffirmed the university’s strong commitment to campus internationalization.

“Earlier, on July 25, 2024, UMB sent two students to participate in an International Community Service Program (KKN) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. And today (August 5, 2024), we are once again sending three students for a teaching internship in Southern Thailand. These students participating in international programs are encouraged to serve as ambassadors of UMB. They should be able to interact with local communities to introduce our university, our province, and our country. More importantly, they are expected to engage in teaching and community service, which will broaden their knowledge and enrich their experiences,” he explained.

The Head of the International Affairs Office (KUI UMB), Andi Azhar, Ph.D., added that UMB has planned several other student mobility programs in the coming months.

“We are preparing three international programs for September and October: a one-semester student exchange program in Taiwan, an internship and International Credit Transfer (ICT) program, and a BIPA (Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers) teaching internship in Vietnam,” he said.
