Rustiyani, M.Pd., Gr., Alumna of 2007 – Vice Principal of Curriculum at SMA IT
As an alumnus of the English Education Faculty, I feel that the knowledge I gained was not merely about mastering grammar or understanding literature. More than that, being an English graduate means I have been equipped with communication skills that open opportunities to engage with the world on a broader scale. My learning experience here taught me how to connect knowledge with real life, build confidence to speak in various forums, and develop critical as well as creative thinking. All of these have become valuable assets, not only in the academic field but also in the professional world and everyday life. For me, studying at the English Education Faculty was a small step that created a lasting impact—not only for my personal future but also as a meaningful contribution to society and the world.
Ferdian Morris, S.Pd – Class of 2020, Employee at Bank NOBU
As a fresh graduate of the English Education Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu, I feel truly grateful for the guidance, support, and valuable experiences I gained throughout my studies. I successfully completed my degree in less than four years with a cum laude distinction, and became the first student to graduate through the article publication pathway. While waiting for my graduation ceremony, I have already begun my service as an English teacher at SD and SMP Langit Biru in Bengkulu City.
During my study, I had the opportunity to participate in two international programs: the Asia University Summer Program in Taiwan (2023) and the International Internship and Community Service in Yala, Thailand (2024). I was also actively involved in international academic forums, presenting at the 5th ELITE International Conference and the 12th TEYLIN International Conference.
In addition, I was entrusted to represent Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu in the 2023 PTMA and LLDIKTI Region II Outstanding Student Competition, as well as to serve as the Education Ambassador of Bengkulu Province. In terms of academic works, I have published several articles in indexed journals, authored one teaching book, and written two novels, which have even reached readers in Thailand.
I am also an alumnus of the Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) – Kampus Mengajar Batch 7 Program, and actively engage as a teacher and advocate of BIPA (Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers) under APPBIPA Bengkulu. My experience teaching BIPA has taken place both in Indonesia and Thailand.
All of these achievements would not have been possible without the support of the lecturers, the academic environment, and the various facilities provided by the English Education Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu. I sincerely hope that this program will continue to produce graduates who are globally competitive, uphold integrity, and contribute meaningfully to education in Indonesia and the international community.
